The challenge

When someone needs help with food, housing, or a mental health crisis, they are often searching at their worst moment, on whatever phone they have. NRVCS needed the region’s scattered resource lists gathered into one place that is fast, free, and usable by anyone, with zero ads and zero data collection.

What we built

We designed and built HopeHub for iOS and Android: an interactive map and filterable directory of 120+ community resources with details, contact info, and driving directions. Favorites keep a personal shortlist one tap away. A dedicated Crisis tab puts 988 and local crisis lines behind a single, always-visible button.

The app is free, carries no ads, and collects no personal data. NRVCS staff manage the resource directory themselves, so listings stay current without waiting on an app release.

Accessibility is the product

Someone reaching for help may be using large text, a screen reader, or one shaky hand. The app shipped tested with VoiceOver and TalkBack: labeled controls, logical focus order, dynamic type support, and contrast-checked color throughout.
