The challenge
House hunters do not want to land on a brokerage’s site and then get bounced off to a clunky third-party portal to actually look at homes. This New River Valley brokerage needed its own site to be the place people search: current MLS listings, filterable the way buyers actually think, without ever leaving the brokerage’s brand.
What we built
We built the site and wired it straight into the MLS through a custom RETS integration, so live listings flow into the site itself. The search sits right in the homepage hero: buyers filter by subdivision, ZIP, MLS number, price, beds, and baths, and browse the results on the brokerage’s own pages instead of a generic portal.
Behind the front door, listings, featured properties, and detail pages stay in sync with the MLS feed, and the brokerage manages the rest of the site through WordPress.
Accessible by design
Homebuyers span every age and ability, so the site itself is built on semantic markup with keyboard-navigable pages and visible focus states. The live MLS search and listing results are served by a third-party IDX integration that supplies its own markup, so that part of the experience is not something we author end to end.
