The challenge
MBA programs ran on paper syllabi, projector lectures, and email attachments. Long before e-learning platforms were the norm, BizEd set out to put an entire program (courses, live sessions, materials, and assessments) on the device students actually carried: the iPad.
What we built
A native iPad app built for iOS: a course dashboard with live-class join, week-at-a-glance summaries, and assignment deadlines; a video player for recorded lectures with slide content front and center; and searchable, filterable course materials spanning notes, assignments, and assessments.
Everything was organized around the student’s week: what’s live now, what’s due in hours vs. days, and what to review before the quiz. Professors published lectures and materials directly; students never left the app.
Accessible by design
Even then, the work followed the practices we now hold as standard: high-contrast type at reading sizes, generous touch targets, captioned video lectures, and VoiceOver-navigable course structure.
